Gavin Marriott MRICS:
|
|
|
|
Gavin, who established Marriott & Co. in 1987, worked in
the printing industry for ten years before joining a firm of Plant and
Machinery Valuers and Auctioneers in 1976 - where he met Alan Byrne and
Wilbert Rendall. Gavin qualified as a Valuer and Auctioneer in 1984 (he
is now a member of the RICS Plant and Machinery Faculty Board), has undertaken
major corporate valuation work worldwide, and has been appointed as the
Valuer and Auctioneer in respect of some significant insolvency cases,
and Expert Witness as listed in ‘Expert Witness – Expert Consultant’.

Alan Byrne:
|
|
|
|
Alan commenced a career in banking before becoming a Plant and Machinery
Valuer with a practice in London, and joined Marriott & Co. as Senior
Valuer in 1993. His background knowledge of valuation work is related
to the printing industry, in which he has gained an extensive and much
sought after knowledge. Although he has become involved in valuation and
disposal work (including conducting auctions) for Insolvency Practitioners ,
much of Alan's work is dedicated to insurance assessments involving extensive
overseas travel.

Judith Campbell:
|
|
|
|
Judith trained and worked as a Graphic Designer until she was lured away
in 1991 by the attraction of plant, machinery and chattel asset disposal
work to become Marriott & Co.'s Auction Manager. Judith's integrity, her
meticulous eye for detail, and outstanding organizational skills at the
auction and tender sales she runs, continues to impress even the most
experienced of bidders and clients.

Susan Marriott:
|
|
|
|
Susan worked for a firm of solicitors in London for many years in her
youth, but has since been married to the practice of Marriott & Co.! Susan
has been creating the practice's inventories since 1987, and now job-shares
this work with Ginny Stacpoole. Susan is also in attendance on the sale
days of our major auction sales to ensure the registration process runs
smoothly.

Timothy Salter MRICS FAAV:
|
|
|
|
Timothy joined Marriott & Co. in 2001 and worked prior to that for five
years with a Cambridge based firm of Industrial and Agricultural Auctioneers
and Valuers. Qualifying as a Chartered Surveyor in 1994, he is a member
of both the Plant and Machinery and Rural Practice faculties of the RICS.
In the course of his agricultural work, he also qualified as a Fellow
of the Association of Agricultural Valuers in 1997. He is principally
involved in insolvency valuations and disposals although carries out valuations
for a variety of purposes such as insurance and business transfer.

Ginny Stacpoole:
|
|
|
|
Ginny has always worked within the professions, mostly legal, including
a spell leading a team of conveyancers with a firm in Sydney, Australia,
and another assisting the Secretary to Sir Hubert Shirley-Smith who was
responsible for building, amongst other things, Sydney Harbour Bridge
and the Forth Road Bridge - which probably explains her perseverance
and tenacity. She joined Marriott & Co.'s team in the mid 1990's not
only in a secretarial capacity, but also as the creator and administrator
of the practice's extensive database.

Catherine Cook BA (Hons):
|
|
|
|
Catherine became part of the Marriott & Co. team in 2000, having attended
University in Lincoln where she studied the Decorative Arts and specialised
in glass design. Catherine's role as the office manager principally involves
keeping the day to day office requirements running smoothly. She plays
a vital role in keeping in contact with other members of the team when
they are out on site.

Iain Steele FRICS:
|
|
|
|
Iain is a Chartered Surveyor and has been involved in the commercial
property market in London and the Home Counties for around 20 years. In
1999, after 7 years in the central London office market he formed Park
Steele with Gregory Park. He now advises clients of all sizes in various
aspects of commercial property including disposals, acquisitions, rent
reviews, lease renewals and valuations.

Sheila Taylor:
|
|
|
|
Sheila joined the team in 1991 as bookkeeper and accounts person; order
and a balancing ledger is the daily requirement! As well as her active
role in the Marriott & Co. office, Sheila is responsible for managing
the accounting procedures at auction sales.
